Cotswold Gardens: There are many beautiful gardens in the Cotswolds that you can choose to visit. Let me show you some of my favourites…

Owned by the National Trust, Hidcote Manor Gardens is considered one of England’s great gardens. Designed and created in the Arts and Crafts style by the horticulturist Major Laurence Johnston. An 8 acre garden with magnificent herbaceous borders, roses, topiary, hedges, walls alpines, lawns and kitchen garden. The beautiful Manor House is also open to visitors at certain times and this is the supreme example of a house built and all its furniture made according to Arts and Crafts ideals and was one of the last country houses to be built and furnished in the old traditional style when everything was done by hand with local stone, local timber and local craftsmen.

Rococo Gardens, Painswick.
Situated in a hidden Cotswold valley. A unique 18th century garden, the sole survivor of a brief period of English Rococo Garden design. By the 1970′s it was overgrown and abandoned. When its historic value became apparent an ambitious and ongoing restoration project was begun.

Bourton House Garden, nr Moreton-in-Marsh
A most delightful 3 acre garden that shows the flair and imagination of the owners of Bourton House. The house and garden were in a delapidated state 24 years ago when the present owners bought it. Lots of restoration work has taken place and the house is now surrounded by colourful herbaceous borders, and box…in parterres, knots, low hedges and spiralling topiary.

This 5 acre garden set behind the ruins of Malmsbury Abbey has a very special peaceful and timeless atmosphere to it. It is the absolute passion of Ian and Barbara Pollard – known as The Naked Gardeners. The BBC Garden Presenter Alan Titchmarsh said “This garden has the WOW factor in abundance.”Follow me on Twitter
